Odion Ighalo increases his goal tally to five, could finish as the tournament's top scorer. The China-based player was however taken off just before halftime due to injury.#TUNNGR #AFCON2019 

Tunisia then attempted at the Super Eagles goal, but all five shots all went off target. The rest of the first half was a bit low on quality with both sides failing to create clear cut chances.

Despite having a good game so far, the AFCON 2019 top scorer Odion Ighalo walked off the pitch following what seemed to be a hamstring injury. The striker got a hug from head coach Gernot Rohr as Gehad Grisha signaled for a break.


By the second half, Ighalo’s tournament was obviously over as youngster Victor Osimhen came on in his place. The Shanghai Greenland Shenua striker however, was in pole position to win the golden boot unless Adam Ounas, Sadio Mane or Riyad Mahrez scored two goals or more in Friday’s final.

Tunisia then got a chance to get level as Firas Chaouat was through on goal, but the substitute  hit the side-netting. Tunisia then had their first shot on target as Anice Badri hit a bouncer from about 30 yards which Nigeria keeper Francis Uzoho grabbed easily.

Uzoho pulled off a good goalkeeping with a decent punch onto Wahbi Khazri’s corner. The eventual corner, not threatening for Rohr’s side.

Chukwueze on the other end tried to put the Super Eagles two goals up as he hit a wonderful curling shot from 25 yards, which Tunisia keeper Moez Ben Cherifia tipped round the post.

The final 10 minutes had Tunisia try their chance again. Wahbi Khazri made a great run down the right but had his cross hit William Troost-Ekong – who scored an own goal in the semis – but had one bounce to safety.

The Super Eagles, had another chance at goal to kill the game off but Victor Osimhen’s shot got tipped wide by Moez Ben Cherifia.
